Calendar Workshop UPDATE

I have finally taken some decent pictures of all the layouts in the Calendar, so I'm going to post them below, with an update on the status of the kits.

The kits will be availble to purchase in store (or by phone) next week. I'm hoping to have everything done so they can go on sale December 1st with the other TM Kits. $100 will buy you one kit and if you want to attend the workshops there are still two left on the schedule. I will complete any technique-heavy layouts with you in class, and send the rest home with the instructions for you to complete on your own time.

Calendar Class

At last! Better late than never, and all that jazz!

The Treasured Memories Calendar Class is back...and it's going to be a little different from last year. Keep reading for more information, or give the store a ring! Instead of doing specific theme for each month, I decided to keep the same general feel throughout...and I know how much our Treasured Memories shoppers like "vintage" based on how fast those darn kits sell out every month!

Running FOUR Wednesdays: November 18, 25 & December 2, 9 from 6 - 9pm (each night). These aren't nights we are normally open to the public, so there won't be any distractions, and if you come in before the class starts you can get some shopping in as well! We'll try to finish 3 layouts per class, but I know that some people work slower than others. I'm including full instructions with coloured pictures (ooh aah!) so you can finish at home if you don't finish all the layouts in class.

This class will operate like our store kits, where you more product than what you pay for. I figure the calendar has at least $130 worth of product in it, but we're only charging you $100(+GST) for the entire thing! And I hope our members understand that their class discount won't apply to this class because of the amazing discount on product we're offering!

You can register at any point during the classes and attend any or all of the sessions at the store. We will be using extra product like Glimmer Mist, embossing powder, etc. that won't be available in the kits, so coming to the class is great if you don't have access to those things at home.

Kits will be available after the last class (Dec. 9) and are the same price as the class. If I have 10 people sign up for the class, no kits will be available. You can reserve a kit by calling the store, and then we won't sell that spot in the class.

Please bring your basic tool kit to the class, including your trimmer, scissors, basic adhesive & glue dots (if you have them). Everything else is provided.

Fall & Winter Class Schedule

Getting Started...Wedding!
Saturday September 19th
10am to 1pm

At Treasured Memories we find that a lot of our customers get started in scrapbooking with their wedding album, and it can be a daunting task! Join Lisa for a little help getting started and some tips to stay on track to finish. Even if you have been scrapping for a while this class is super helpful if you want to do something extra special for this special event.

Students should bring:
- Basic tool kit (trimmer, scissors, adhesive)
- Your album and any supplies already purchased. It you are literally starting from scratch, we always have lots to choose from
- Copies of your wedding photos (please don't bring your originals, as we might have to trim some of the pictures down)
- Any keepsakes or extra items you want to include in your book

You will learn:
1. How to choose coordinating paper
2. Page layout design
3. Creating a theme & overall design for your album and how to stick to it throughout

The number of layouts you complete in this class is up to you. There isn't a set number to complete, and I totally encourage people to work at their own pace. That being said, some students work faster than others and will finish more layouts. On the Saturday offering of this class, there will be lots of extra time after the class to hang out and apply what you have just learned! And our classroom is open whenever the store is open so you can come back and work when it's most convenient for you.

I get so many compliments and questions about my little girl altered canvas displayed in the store, that I've decided to teach you all how to make one just like her!

Please bring:
- Apron or old shirt to protect your clothes
- Old gift card or expired credit card
- Write a letter to yourself. It doesn't have to be fancy or anything. We are going to create our background over it, so you probably won't be able to read it anyways!

Some things you will learn:
1. Paper collage
2. Different paint techniques
3. Using Glimmer Mist to make a background
4. Adding 3D Ephemera to a canvas
5. Altering & decorating a chipboard shape

Beginner's Series
Design & Layout: September 15th, 6:30 to 8:30pm
Stamping: September 29th, 6:30 to 8:30pm
Paint: October 13th, 6:30 to 8:30pm
Journaling: October 27th 6:30 to 8:30pm

Are you looking to start scrapbooking, but don't know where to begin? Then you need to take this class! Learn the basics of scrapbooking from paper, embellishments, to tools. There are four classes in this series. You can take just one or two, or take them all in any order. The Fall series will run every second Tuesday starting on September 15th.

Bring several of your favorite photos to use (photos may be trimmed so please bring copies). We will only be making one layout per class, but I plan on covering a lot of techniques and tips so we'll fill up our two hours quite quickly!

Please note that because of the one-on-one nature of this class, the number of participants is limited to six students per class. Call the store early to reserve your spot. If you sign up and pay for all four classes at the same time, you get a discount! Snacks and drink are always provided!

We will be offering this class again in the new year, so if the fall dates don't work for you, call the store to be placed on our waiting list for the January/February classes and we'll call you when we have the dates picked.

I love paint. And ink. And getting messy...do you? In this class we are going to be playing with paint, and making our own masks, and spraying ink and it is going to be so fun and wonderful!

Students should bring:
- Apron or old shirt to protect your clothes
- Ranger Craft Mat (or something similar) if you have one at home
- An open mind and all the creativity you have to spare!!

In this class you will learn:
1. How to make a mask out of leftover product
2. How to use Glimmer Mist and other spray inks
3. Different ways to add paint to a layout
4. How to create your own background
5. Basic layout and page design
because Learning is Fun! & Knowledge is Power!

Scrapbook Savvy!
Are you strapped for time? Finding it harder and harder to fit your hobby into your busy life? Join Lisa for this class as she shows you how to make the most of your time and your supplies!

Using these simple embellishments and only 7 sheets of pattern paper, we will complete 6 layouts in class! And when I say complete, I mean complete...so bring your photos!
